M&C Racing Update

M&C Racing – Rounds 1, 2 and 3

Round 1 – Brands Hatch

I qualified in the Elite 600 Class and finished 23rd in the Saturday race.  However on Sunday I had a sense of humour failure caused by oil being spilled on a cold wet track and I did not complete the Sunday races.

Round 2 – Donington Park

Decided compete in the Donington round, due to the frozen conditions.

Round 3 – Snetterton

Friday practice went well with times dropping steadily through the sessions.  As this was the first real outing on the bike in dry conditions, there was a lot of work to do to get a reasonable setup.  Thanks to Colin and Rachel of CR Motorcycles (www.crmotorcycles.co.uk) for all their work in getting the bike set up for this fast flat circuit.  Colin and Rachel will be assisting me with track-side setup for most championship rounds this year.

In the races I finished 29th and 30th.  This was a little disappointing, especially as lap times didn’t really fall over the race days.  In the excitement of racing, I have tended to forget to be smooth and go back to old habits of wrestling the bike around, which is very dramatic and very demanding, but ultimately very tiring and not quick!

All in all, not a bad (delayed) start to the season and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved in getting me on track this year and helping me fulfil my ambition to race in the Thundersport Elite 600 Class.
